FALL 2025 UNIFORM OVERVIEW & DRESS CODE
Dowling Catholic students are required to wear the dress code designated pants and tops. All uniform tops are purchased through the Dowling Catholic Campus Store.

*XS - M in BLACK carried in store during the school year but ordering ahead is STRONGLY recommended. We are frequently out of stock during the school year.
Youth Sizes: Youth sizes available for cotton and performance polos, and fleece jackets. All youth is special order only. The Campus Store cannot recommend the Youth Sizes as the sizing is very inconsistent and very short and boxy.

Beginning August 1, 2024:
Uniform pants are:
- Black, khaki or navy blue (gray is no longer part of the uniform)
- At least ankle length
- Have belt loops and a standard button/zipper front closure
- Sit on or near the hip
- Made of chino cotton, microfiber polyester (golf pants material) or cotton corduroy
- Free from holes and decoration
Uniform pants are NOT:
- Yoga pants, cargo pants, jeans, leggings, jeggings, sweatpants, athletic pants, skirts, skorts, shorts or any iteration of these
- Drawstring or elastic waist, hip-hugger or sagging below the waistline
- Elastic, zipper or jogger hemmed at the bottom
- Made of denim cotton, colored denim cotton, fleece, athletic double knit polyester, spandex or leggings material
- Pants with PATCH POCKETS sewn on the back.* (See this page for examples)
The 'no patch pockets' rule will be strictly enforced beginning August 1, 2025. For fall of 2024, we will remind students of the rule but JUG won't be given for patch pockets so students may get more use from pants they already own.
If you are purchasing new pants for fall 2024, purchasing pants without patch pockets is highly recommended. This ensures that the pants you purchase now will be uniform compliant when rule enforcement begins August 1, 2025.

HOW DO I GET UNIFORMS DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR?
During the school year, you have 2 options for purchasing more uniforms.

- Shop from our available stock: as supplies last
- Short sleeve cotton polo shirts for men (S - 3XL) and women (S - 2XL) in black, white, maroon and gray
- Long sleeve cotton polo shirts for men (S - XL) and women (S - XL) in black and maroon
- Crew neck uniform sweatshirts, unisex, in black, sizes XS - L
- Place a uniform order:
- Uniform orders are collected and then submitted on the 16th of each month.
- It takes 5-7 weeks after the bulk order is placed for uniform orders to arrive in the Campus Store.
- No uniform orders are shipped during the school year, even if you select shipping at checkout.
- You will receive an email when your order is ready for pick up.
Example -
You order October 1. The bulk order is placed October 16 and the order is ready for student pick up the last week of November.
You order October 17. The bulk order is placed November 16 and the order is ready for student pick up the last week of December
MORE IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Many uniform items are NOT stocked by the store and must be ordered. These include short and long-sleeved performance polos, some* long-sleeved cotton polos, grey uniform sweatshirts, and all fleece jackets, v-neck sweaters, tall sizes and youth sizes.
Uniform orders are NOT shipped during the school year.

Dress Code Shoes:
Students may wear either dress shoes/boots or tennis shoes and should be well kept, with socks underneath.. Shoes must have a closed heel that covers the entire heel and a complete rubber outsole.
No crocs, open-toe shoes, flip-flops, high heels, Heelys, or slippers unless permission has been granted from the Student Life Office.
School appropriate and activity appropriate athletic wear should be worn for all PE classes.
Grooming/Rules:
- The uniform is worn throughout the year unless an exception is made on a specific occasion.
- Non-school related buttons/stickers or any other adornments may not be worn during the school day.
- No hats, neck scarves, gloves, bandanas, bonnets or apparel that covers the entire head.
- Coats, jackets, sweatshirts, or other apparel designed for outdoor wear may not be worn during the school day.
- Girls may have their ears pierced. Boys are not allowed to wear earrings. Nose rings are not acceptable; however, nose studs are approved.
- All hairstyles must have a natural color, worn out of the eyes, and are not distracting to the learning environment.
- Boys are to be clean-shaven, no sideburns below the ear and hair must be worn no lower than the back of the collar. No hair ties or other external devices are allowed.
- Students should be in their uniform from the time school starts to the time school is dismissed. (Students may wear P.E. clothing to school if they have P.E. the first period of the day.)
- All students leaving designated PE areas/classes must be in proper dress code.
Dress Code and Modifications:
The DCHS Administration reserves the right to make modifications to the uniform/dress code and will provide necessary communication to students and families of those modifications during the school year if necessary.
